The US Department of Defense awarded a contract worth nearly $1 billion to four technology security companies to support the military’s information and electronic warfare division, the US Army said in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The $994,675,676 contract will be divvied up between Adams Communication and Engineering Technology, Eoir Technologies, Praxis Engineering and DHPC Technologies to support the US military’s Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate, the release said on Wednesday.
Only four proposals were submitted in an online bid for the contract, which is set to expire on May 7, 2018, while funding and work location "will be determined with each order."
The Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate is the US military’s center for developing advanced cyber operations, electronic warfare, radar and signals intelligence technologies, according to the US Army website.
The directorate falls under the Army’s Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), which focuses on developing capabilities that enable situational awareness, secure communications and protects US soldiers from surprise attack.
