WOMEN OF THE WORLD UNITE AT ROJAVA BORDER

Women of the World Unite at Rojava borderLarge numbers of women who came together for the World March of Women (WMW) in Nusaybin district of Mardin have marched to the Rojava border where they met women from Cizire Canton of Rojava.
The 4th International Action of the World March of Women which started yesterday in Nusaybin in support of the women fighting in Rojava, continued today with the meeting of women from various parts of the world with the women in Cizire Canton of Rojava at the border.

The women gathered early this morning at the Mitanni Culture Centre before marching to the border of Qamishlo district of Cizire Canton. Women marched to the rally area at the border near Cemetery of Martyrs chanting the slogans “Women are on the march until we all are free” and “We are building a free life with the women resisting in Kobanê”. Dressed in traditional clothes which gave a colourful look, women marched all the way by chanting slogans and singing songs, carrying the pictures of women including a founding member of the PKK, Sakine Cansız who was assassinated in Paris, journalist Deniz Fırat who was martyred in Maxmur, Kader Ortakaya who was killed by Turkish soldiers at the border while crossing into Kobanê, Mirabel sisters, Clara Zetkin, as well as the flags of YPJ, KJA, KCK, WMW, and the posters of the Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
When reaching the border, women turned their faces towards the Cizire Canton and chanted all together “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (Woman, Life, Freedom)” as well other slogans in favour of the resistance in Rojava and the YPJ. The women from Rojava joined the slogans from the other side of the border, uniting the voice of women and turning the borders into meaningless lines.
In the meantime, Turkish military deployed armoured dozens of armored vehicles, military tanks as well as hundreds of soldiers around the rally area at the border.
Following the meeting of women at the border, two rallies were began separately at two sides of the border.
