ISIS aren't innovators in the triumphant-photo-with-severed-head world. Here's a British soldier with the heads of two Malayan guerrilla fighters, circa 1950. British government and armed forces have perpetrated every despicable act of state terrorism, torture and violent repression you can think of. And today Britain is a close ally of the Headchop Kingdom, Saudi Arabia - which itself is the most important backer of ISIS. So that perhaps tells us something worth knowing about British democracy and civilisation.
